Monday – Read Psalm 100
Thanksgiving And Praise
Prayer: Ask God to open your heart so that you can learn what He has prepared for you during your study.
1. What does the psalmist say should be the attitude of the people of God? Joyful and glad.
2. Why do you think the psalms keep referring to God’s people as “the sheep of His pasture”? This was an illustration that was common to the people of the time and reflected a relationship, a shepherd caring for his sheep, that pictures God’s love for His people.
3. Why does the psalmist say we should praise God? Because He is good and His steadfast love endures forever.
4. What does this psalm say to you personally; how does it help you; what does it say to you about your relationship with God?
Prayer: Ask God to teach you how to be a better sheep.
Tuesday – Read Psalm 101
Right Conduct Of A King – A psalm of David.
Prayer: Ask God to open your heart so that you can learn what He has prepared for you during your study
5. What does the psalmist say motivates his actions? God’s steadfast love and justice.
6. What does the psalmist say about his heart? It will be guided by integrity.
7. What does the psalmist say he will do to maintain his integrity, verse 3? He will not set anything evil before him and will hate the works of those who fall away.
8. What people does the psalmist say he will destroy, verse 5? Those who treat their neighbor wrongly and are proud.
9. What type of people does the psalmist say he will gather around himself, verse 6? Those who are faithful and whose way is blameless.
10. What does this psalm say to you personally; how does it help you; what does it say to you about your relationship with God?
Prayer: Ask God to help you gather people around you who are faithful and blameless.
Wednesday – Read Psalm 102
A Sufferer In Exile – Probably someone in the Babylonian Captivity
Prayer: Ask God to open your heart so that you can learn what He has prepared for you during your study.
11. After reading this psalm, what do you understand is the psalmist’s present condition? He is in some type of distress
12. Why does the psalmist say he is in that condition, verse 10? He believes his present condition is because of God’s actions.
13. How does the psalmist say his present condition is affecting him physically, verses 4-5? He is physically sick and believes he might die.
14. What does the psalmist have confidence that God will do, verse 13? Rise up and have pity on Zion and bless her.
15. Why does the psalmist say the things that are happening should be recorded, verse 18? So that generations yet to come can know the actions of God.
16. What does the psalmist say about God, verse 26? He is eternal.
17. What does this psalm say to you personally; how does it help you; what does it say to you about your relationship with God?
Prayer: Pray for those that are afflicted or who are suffering. Pray that they will turn to God for comfort.
Thursday – Read Psalm 103
A Psalm Of Joy And Thanksgiving For God’s Mercies In Forgiveness – A psalm of David.
Prayer: Ask God to open your heart so that you can learn what He has prepared for you during your study
18. What do you think it means to bless the LORD? The Hebrew word actually means “to kneel before, salute.”
19. Why does the psalmist say we should bless the LORD? Because of His merciful actions toward us.
20. What does the psalmist say God does for the oppressed, verse 6? Works righteousness and justice for them.
21. What do you think is significant about the Lord being slow to anger? He is patient and does not act quickly against us when we do wrong.
22. What does the psalmist say God does for the sins of His children? Removes them from us as far as the east is from the west.
23. To whom does the psalmist say God’s love is from everlasting to everlasting? To those who fear Him and keep His covenant.
24. What does this psalm say to you personally; how does it help you; what does it say to you about your relationship with God?
Prayer: Thank God for being slow to anger.
Friday – Read Psalms 104
God’s Care Over His Works, Nature
Prayer: Ask God to open your heart so that you can learn what He has prepared for you during your study.
25. In this psalm, what evidence does the psalmist give to prove that the LORD is very great? The workings of creation, i.e. the way God has set in motion the means to provide for the animals He created.
26. In verse 9, what event do you think the psalmist is talking about? The flood of Noah’s time.
27. What does verse 9 tell you about the flood of Noah’s days? The source of the water that covered the earth was not just rain; the rivers and seas came out of their boundaries and flowed over the earth.
28. What does the psalmist say man should do when he is out in creation? Notice the workings of God and praise Him.
29. What does the psalmist say he will do as long as God gives Him life? Sing to the Lord and rejoice in Him.
30. What does this psalm say to you personally; how does it help you; what does it say to you about your relationship with God?
Prayer: Take some time to look at something in nature and praise God for how it is wonderfully made.
Saturday – Read Psalm 105
Historical – Abraham To Canaan. A praise to God in His dealings with His people.
Prayer: Ask God to open your heart so that you can learn what He has prepared for you during your study.
31. Why does the psalmist say we should give thanks to the Lord and call upon His name? To make His deeds known among the people.
32. What does the psalmist say we should remember? God’s past workings among men.
33. What does the psalmist say God did for the descendants of Abraham? Kept His covenant with Abraham with them.
34. What do verses 17-22 tell you about the life of Joseph? God orchestrated the events of his life.
35. Why does the psalmist say God gave the Israelites the Promised Land? So that they might live in it and keep His statutes and observe His laws.
36.. What does this psalm say to you personally; how does it help you; what does it say to you about your relationship with God?
Prayer: Praise God for His faithfulness in keeping covenant with His people.
