Psalm 143 – A Prayer For Deliverance And Guidance
Prayer: Ask God to open your heart so that you can learn what He has prepared for you during your study.
1. What does the psalmist say is his present condition, verse 7? He is in some type of prison.
2. What is the psalmist crying out for? For deliverance from his persecutors, verse 6.
3. Why does the psalmist say he cries to God, verse 5? Because God is his refuge.
4. What is the psalmist confident of, verse 7? That God will deliver him and deal bountifully with him.
5. On what basis does the psalmist cry out to God, 143:2? On the basis that all men are sinners therefore God should not let his sin keep Him from responding.
6. What does the psalmist say encourages him to cry out to God, verse 5? Remembering the days of old and the past actions of God.
7. What is the psalmist asking God to do, verse 7? Deliver him quickly.
8. On what basis does the psalmist ask God to deliver him, verse 11? For God’s name sake.

Prayer: Thank God for the confidence you can have in His deliverance because of His history of delivering His children in times of trouble.
Tuesday – Read Psalm 144
Prayer And Praise

10. After reading this psalm, what is the condition of the psalmist? He is getting ready to go to war or is in a war with his enemies.
11. Why does the psalmist say he is calling out to God? Because God is his stronghold and deliverer.
12. What does the psalmist say about his enemies, verse 8? Their words are full of lies.
13. Why does the psalmist say he will sing a song to God, verses 9-10? Because He gives victory to kings.
14. Along with deliverance from his enemies, what else is the psalmist asking of God, verses 11-14? To make the nation prosperous.
15. Who does the psalmist say God blesses, verse 15? Those whose God is the Lord.
16. What does this psalm say to you personally; how does it help you; what does it say to you about your relationship with God?
Prayer: Thank God for the blessings He has given this nation and pray that America will turn their hearts back to the Lord so He can continue those blessings.
Wednesday – Read Psalm 145
The Goodness And Righteousness Of God

18. What does the psalmist say each generation should do, verse 4? Tell the next generation of the works of God.
19. What does the psalmist say is the character of God, verses 7-9? He is good, righteous, gracious, merciful, slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love.
20. What does the psalmist say about the kingdom of God, verse 13? It is everlasting.
21. What does the psalmist say about those who call upon the Lord, verse 18? They should call upon Him in truth.
22. What does the psalmist say God will do to the wicked, verse 20? Destroy them.
23. What does this psalm say to you personally; how does it help you; what does it say to you about your relationship with God?
Prayer: Ask God to help you always call upon Him in truth.
Thursday – Read Psalm 146 & 147
Psalms 146 Through 150 Are Hallelujah Psalms. The author of these psalms is unknown.
Psalm 146 – Song Of The Return From Captivity
Psalm 147 – Praise For God’s Restoration And Prosperity
Prayer: Ask God to open your heart so that you can learn what He has prepared for you during your study.
24. What does the psalmist say he will do for God, verse 1? Praise Him and sing praises to Him.
25. Who does the psalmist say you should not put your trust in, verse 3? Princes or men.
26. Why does the psalmist say you should not put your trust in men, verse 4? Because they all die and have no power after their death.
27. What does the psalmist say the Lord does for those who are distressed, verses 7-9? Lifts them up and gives them justice.
28. Why does the psalmist say it is good to sing praises to the Lord, verse 1? Because it is pleasant and fitting.
29. What does the psalmist say about God’s understanding, verse 5? It is beyond measure.
30. Who does the Lord take pleasure in, verse 11? Those who fear Him.
31. What does the psalmist say about the dealings of God with nations other than Jacob, verses 19-20? God has not dealt with any other nation the way He has dealt with Jacob.

Prayer: Thank God for the way He has dealt with America and pray for the hearts of the people of this country that they will be turned back to Him.
Friday – Read Psalm 148
Praise For The Creation

34. Why does the psalmist say they should praise God, verse 5? Because God created them.
35. What does the psalmist say about the name of the Lord, verse 13? His name is exalted.
36. What do you think the psalmist is speaking of in verse 14 when he says God has raised up a horn for His people? God has provided a deliverer. This may be a reference to Christ.

Prayer: Thank God for His creation and ask Him to help you, as a part of His creation, to always praise Him.
Saturday – Read Psalm 149 & 150
